Salted Tea Biscuits


đź’ Ingredients:
  • An egg.
  • A tablespoon of baking powder.
  • Half a teaspoon of oregano.
  • Four cups of flour.
  • Three quarters of a cup of whole milk.
  • A quarter cup of unsalted butter.
  • A pinch of salt.
đź’ Preparation:
  • Mix: flour, baking powder, oregano and butter.
  • Cut the butter into the flour mixture to form coarse crumbs, then add the milk and knead the dough, then form it into a ball.
  • Divide the dough into four parts, then roll it out until it becomes very thin on a floured surface, then cut the dough into squares or any shape you like.
  • Place it on an ungreased cookie baking sheet and make holes in it with a fork.
  • Brush it with the egg mixture and sprinkle it with salt, then put it in the oven and bake it at a temperature of 225 degrees, or until the biscuits are browned for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Butter Biscuits


đź’ Ingredients:
  • 125 grams of soft butter.
  • Half a cup of custard powder.
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla.
  • One egg.
  • Two cups of flour.
  • A teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A tablespoon of milk.
đź’ Preparation:
  • Put the butter, sugar and vanilla in a small bowl and mix them using an electric mixer until the mixture becomes creamy in texture.
  • Add the egg and mix well until combined, then sift the flour and baking powder over the mixture.
  • Add the milk and mix it with the rest of the ingredients until it holds together, and form the dough into small balls.
  • Arrange the balls on a baking tray, making sure to leave appropriate spaces between them.
  • Press the balls gently with a fork.
  • Place the tray in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius, and bake for 12-15 minutes or until it becomes light golden in color.

Milk Biscuits

  • A cup and three quarters of flour.
  • A cup of butter at room temperature.
  • A cup of sugar.
  • Half a spoon of vanilla.
  • Half a teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • An egg.
  • Sugar for dipping.
đź’ Preparation:
  • Put the sugar with the butter, then stir it well with a mixer or hand whisk, then add the eggs while stirring, flour, salt, vanilla, and baking powder gradually until a cohesive and soft dough is formed.
  • Place the dough in a plastic bag for twenty minutes to rest.
  • Turn on the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Make a ball of dough using a tablespoon, then dip it well in sugar from all sides.
  • Place the biscuit pieces in the oven tray, leaving a space between them, then bake the tray for eighteen minutes.
  • Serve the biscuits cold with tea or milk.

Cocoa Biscuits


đź’ Ingredients:
  • A quarter cup of liquid milk.
  • Fifty grams of chocolate.
  • Three cups of flour.
  • A quarter cup of plain cocoa powder.
  • Three quarters of a teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A quarter teaspoon of baking soda.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • A cup of sugar.
  • A cup of soft butter.
  • A large egg.
  • A teaspoon of liquid vanilla.
  • A teaspoon of baking powder.
đź’ Preparation:
  • Mix the sugar with the ghee or butter using an electric mixer until a fluffy mixture is formed.
  • Add the eggs to the sugar while continuing to beat at medium speed.
  • Add the vanilla and milk to the mixture and mix the mixture well using the mixer.
  • Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder gradually until a soft, cohesive dough is formed - it will be brittle and crumbly, but it will become cohesive and easy to shape after it rests.
  • Add the chocolate pieces to the dough, then knead by hand, divide the dough into two parts, and put cocoa powder on one part and knead it well until it is completely mixed.
  • Place the dough in a plastic bag, and leave it in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  • Bring the dough from the refrigerator, place it on a clean surface and spread it with a rolling pin to a thickness of one centimeter, and cut it.
  • Preheat the oven to a high temperature, then place the biscuits in a tray and put it in the oven for ten minutes.
  • Leave the biscuits to cool, then place them on a serving plate.

Almond and anise biscuits


đź’ Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A pinch of salt
  • Half a cup of almonds.
  • 1 tablespoon of whole anise.
  • 1 teaspoon of orange zest.
  • 2 large eggs.
  • 1/4 cup of oil.
  • 1 cup of sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla.
đź’ Preparation:
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, and prepare the baking trays.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, anise seeds, and orange zest.
  • Put the eggs, oil, sugar, and vanilla in the mixer, and run on medium speed for two minutes.
  • Add the flour mixture and run until the dough is formed, then add the almond pieces.
  • Pour the biscuit mixture into the trays, leaving space between them because they will expand.
  • Bake the biscuits for ten to twelve minutes until golden.
