Palestinian Ghriba Recipe | Sofrat Hadhramia

Ghriba

Ghriba is considered a simple and easy-to-prepare dessert, which is widely popular in all Arab countries. It is a delicious dish that melts in the mouth and gives the body energy, vitality and happiness as well, regardless of the way it is prepared, as each country has its own recipe for preparing this dessert, but in this article we will present to you the Palestinian Ghriba recipe.

Palestinian Ghriba:

💠Ingredients:
🔹Four cups of all-purpose white flour, pre-sifted.

🔹Two cups of finely ground white sugar.

🔹Two cups of unsalted butter, at room temperature.

🔹A small amount of pistachios for garnish.

💠Preparation:

🔹Mix the soft butter with the amount of fine sugar well, until you get a white and smooth creamy mixture.

🔹At this stage, it is recommended to use an electric mixer, which will save time and effort, and lead to a better result.

🔹Add the white flour to the butter and sugar mixture, and knead well using your hands, until a soft but cohesive dough is formed.

🔹Be careful not to over-knead by hand, so that the butter does not melt and the dough becomes liquid.

🔹When the kneading process is finished, place the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour, until it solidifies and becomes easy to shape.

🔹Form the dough into small balls, such as a walnut, or into the shape of fingers, depending on desire and ability. It can also be shaped into the shape of the letter (S).

🔹Decorate the Ghariba balls in the middle with pistachios.

🔹Arrange the Ghariba balls in a baking tray, greased with a little butter or ghee.

🔹Care must be taken to keep the distance between each ball, because it will melt during baking and may stick to each other.

🔹Bake the tray in the oven for no more than a third of an hour, making sure that the oven temperature is low.

🔹Serve the Ghariba after it has cooled.
