Tortilla

Tortilla is a type of Spanish bread, it is a thin circular bread, and is baked in a tray or iron on a gas, it is characterized by ease and speed of preparation at home, as well as the ability to make and keep it in the refrigerator until the time of its use.

Tortilla have dozens of different ways, depending on the filling used in them, there are salty fillings and sweet fillings, and there are vegetarian fillings and fillings with meat or chicken. Tortilla (according to its filling) is a healthy, nutritious meal, as it consists of a type of meat with vegetables, or several types of vegetables, wrapped in tortilla bread.

How to make tortilla bread


💠Ingredients:

🔹One and a half cups of white flour.

🔹A quarter cup of corn oil or sunflower oil.

🔹Half a teaspoon of sugar.

🔹Half a teaspoon of salt.

🔹Half a teaspoon of yeast.

🔹Half a cup of warm water.

💠Preparation

🔹Bring a deep bowl, put the flour and salt in it and mix. 

🔹Add the oil and knead well until all absorbs. 

🔹In a cup, put warm water and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves, then add the yeast and dissolve it, and set it aside until it is filled with bubbles and rises.

🔹Add the melted yeast to the dough and knead until a smooth, cohesive dough is formed. 

🔹Divide the dough into three or four balls, depending on the size required for the tortilla loaf.

🔹Place the balls in a bowl and cover it with nylon paper, wrap the bowl with a blanket if the weather is cold, and leave them to rest for an hour or more until the balls double in size.

 🔹After the dough has risen, take a ball and isolate it out in a circular shape, until it becomes a quarter of a centimeter thick, and do the same for the other balls.

🔹Heat a griddle or tray over the fire, spread a thin layer of oil or butter, place one wafer, and bake it on both sides until browned.

 🔹Place the wafer on a plate and cover it with a clean, damp (not wet) kitchen towel.

🔹Continue baking the other wafers.

 Tortilla fillings



 Tortilla fillings vary. Some smear them with lemon juice and a pinch of salt and they are ready. Some smear them with a layer of butter, sugar, and cinnamon. There are fillings that take longer to prepare, and there are many of them. We chose for you 

The chicken filling


 💠Ingredients: 

 🔹Two pieces of boneless chicken breasts.

 🔹Green pepper or any other color, cut into squares.

 🔹One onion, roughly chopped.

 🔹Half a cup of mushroom.

 🔹Two tablespoons of olive oil.

 🔹A pinch of salt and pepper.

 🔹Mayonnaise (optional).

💠Preparation: 

 🔹Fry the onion until it wilt, then add the chicken pieces and fry them until browned.

 🔹Add the rest of the other ingredients and let them wilt for a few minutes.

 🔹Take a tortilla chip and spread it with a tablespoon of mayonnaise, then distribute the filling and wrap the chip.
