Lebanese Namoura


  One of the most delicious and famous recipes and desserts from Lebanese cuisine. It is suitable for seasons and feasts, and it is also delicious and nutritious.

Lebanese Namoura


💠Ingredients:

🔹A cup of flour.

🔹3 cups of semolina.

🔹A cup of sugar.

🔹3 teaspoons of baking powder.

🔹Two cups of liquid milk.

🔹A cup of oil.

🔹A tablespoon of oil to grease the tray.

🔹Half a cup of almond for garnish.

💎Syrup ingredients:

🔹Two and a half cups of sugar.

🔹A cup of water.

🔹Two teaspoons of orange blossom water.

🔹Two teaspoons of rose water.

🔹Two teaspoons of lemon juice.

🔹Two tablespoons of butter.

💠Preparation:

💎To prepare the syrup:


🔹Put water in a pot over high heat, add sugar, stir until the sugar dissolves, and leave it until it begins to boil.

🔹Reduce the heat and add two teaspoons of lemon juice.

🔹Leave the pot to boil for 7-10 minutes.

🔹Remove the pot from the heat, add two teaspoons of rose water, orange blossom water, and butter, and leave it to cool.

💎To prepare the Lebanese Namoura:


🔹Put the almonds in a kettle or a suitable pot, cover them with water, and turn on the fire under them, until the water boils, then filter the almonds, peel them, and cut them into halves with a sharp knife.

 ðŸ”¹Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

 ðŸ”¹In a deep bowl, sift the flour, add semolina, sugar, baking powder, milk, and oil, and stir the ingredients well to obtain a homogeneous dough.

 ðŸ”¹In a greased tray, place the dough and spread it over the entire tray.

 ðŸ”¹Place the tray in the oven and place it on the upper rack for 20 minutes, or until it is browned and set.

 ðŸ”¹Take the tray out of the oven and cut it into the desired shape, making sure to speed it up.  Distribute the almonds into the squares and return them to the oven to brown. Place the tray on the bottom rack, leave it for five minutes, and brown it on top.

🔹Take the tray out of the oven and pour the cold syrup over the hot Namoura.

 ðŸ”¹Leave the tray to cool, then cut the Lebanese Namoura and serve it.

The Syrian Namoura 


 ðŸ’ Ingredients:

 ðŸ”¹A tablespoon of baking powder.

 ðŸ”¹Three cups of semolina.

 ðŸ”¹Half a cup of yogurt.

 ðŸ”¹Coconut - as desired.

 ðŸ”¹Half a cup of ghee.

 ðŸ”¹Peeled almonds.

 ðŸ’ Preparation:

 ðŸ”¹Put the ghee in a bowl, add the semolina to it and mix well, then put the yogurt in a plate and add the baking powder to it and mix the mixture well.

 ðŸ”¹Add yogurt to the semolina and ghee mixture, mix well, then add coconut and continue mixing.

 ðŸ”¹Prepare a baking tray by greasing it with vegetable oil and tahini, pouring the semolina dough into it and leveling the surface.

 ðŸ”¹Leave the semolina dough in the tray for five hours until it rests, then divide it into squares, and place a peeled almond in each square.

 ðŸ”¹Bake the basbousa in an oven at 180 degrees Celsius for a third of an hour, then add the syrup to the sauce and serve it.

 Easy Namoura 


 ðŸ’ Ingredients:

 ðŸ”¹A light pinch of salt.

 ðŸ”¹Half a cup of ghee.

 ðŸ”¹A cup of yogurt.

 ðŸ”¹Half a teaspoon of baking powder.

 ðŸ”¹Half a cup of fine coconut.

 ðŸ”¹Two tablespoons of orange blossom water.

 ðŸ”¹Two tablespoons of butter.

 ðŸ”¹Half a cup of halved almonds.

 ðŸ”¹A quarter teaspoon of baking soda.

 ðŸ”¹Two and a half cups of  semolina.

 ðŸ”¹A cup of fine-grained sugar.

 ðŸ”¹Two tablespoons of rose water.

 ðŸ’ Syrup:

 ðŸ”¹A cup of water.

 ðŸ”¹A teaspoon of lemon juice.

 ðŸ”¹Two cups of sugar.

 ðŸ”¹A teaspoon of orange blossom water.

 ðŸ”¹A teaspoon of rose water.

 ðŸ’ Preparation:

 ðŸ”¹Prepare an oven dish to measure 23*33 centimeters, and grease the mold with a light layer of ghee or butter.

 ðŸ”¹Place the butter and ghee in a small saucepan, then raise it over medium heat until the ghee melts.

 ðŸ”¹Place the mixture of butter, ghee and semolina in the bowl of the electric mixer, attach the stirring paddle and run the electric mixer at medium speed for a minute until the ingredients are mixed together, and leave the semolina for half an hour.

 ðŸ”¹Add baking powder, sugar, bicarbonate of soda, coconut, salt, yogurt, orange blossom water, and rose water, then restart the electric mixer at medium speed for a minute until a smooth and homogeneous mixture is produced.

 ðŸ”¹Place the namoura mixture in the prepared oven tray, level the surface using the back of a spoon until it becomes smooth, and leave the namoura aside for half an hour.

 ðŸ’ Syrup:


 ðŸ”¹Place rose water, sugar, orange blossom water, water, and lemon juice in a thick-bottomed pot, raise it over medium heat, and leave it on the fire until it boils for eight to ten minutes.

 ðŸ”¹Place the wire rack in the middle of the oven and heat it to 180 degrees Celsius.

 ðŸ”¹Cut the namour into squares, and place half an almond in each square.

 ðŸ”¹Place the namoura in the oven for half an hour, leave it until it is cooked and becomes light golden, then take it out of the oven and pour the syrup over it while it is hot.

 ðŸ”¹Leave the namoura for several hours to cool, then serve it.
