Mayonnaise is a sauce made mainly from eggs and oil, served with fried and grilled dishes, especially with French fries and grilled chicken; because it enhances the flavor of the dish. Mayonnaise is widely available in the markets because housewives do not like to prepare it at home for fear of bacteria in raw eggs and also for fear of the smell and taste of eggs in it, but preparing mayonnaise at home ensures that it does not contain preservatives and artificial flavors. In this article, we will present to you how to prepare mayonnaise in simple steps.

Mayonnaise Preparation


💠Ingredients:

🔹Four teaspoons of lemon juice.

🔹Two egg yolks.

🔹A cup of vegetable oil.

🔹A pinch of salt and ground black pepper.

🔹A teaspoon of Dijon mustard.

💠Preparation:

🔹Put the egg yolks in the bowl of an electric mixer, or in a food processor.

🔹Add the mustard and lemon juice and beat the ingredients until combined.

🔹Gradually add the oil to the egg mixture in a thin stream, and operate the mixer at medium speed until you get the desired consistency.

🔹Add the salt and black pepper, then store the mayonnaise in a tightly sealed glass container for a week in the refrigerator. Mayonnaise can be used with pasta salads, cabbage salad, and fried vegetable fatteh.

Mayonnaise with vinegar


💠Ingredients:

🔹Two egg yolks.

🔹A teaspoon of mustard.

🔹Five hundred milliliters of vegetable oil.

🔹2 tablespoons of white vinegar.

🔹Half a medium lemon.

🔹Half a teaspoon of salt, or to taste.

💠Preparation:

🔹Beat the egg yolks in a large bowl, then add the mustard and continue to beat the mixture.

🔹Gradually add half a cup of oil while whisking continuously for three to four minutes, or until the mayonnaise consistency becomes thick.

🔹When you finish adding half a cup of oil, add a tablespoon of vinegar, the mixture will change color and become slightly liquid.

🔹Add the remaining amount of oil in the same way as before, then add the salt, lemon juice, and vinegar.

🔹Store the mayonnaise in a sterilized, tightly sealed container for no more than a week.

💠Notes


🔹If the mayonnaise does not hold together and becomes runny when adding the oil, add one egg yolk and a teaspoon of tap water in a clean bowl, then gradually add the mayonnaise mixture to the bowl while whisking continuously, then gradually add the vegetable oil and whisk until you get a thick and homogeneous mayonnaise sauce.

🔹You can add any flavor you want to the mayonnaise, such as grated garlic, sweet, hot, smoked paprika, or ketchup.
