Pickles


Pickles are considered one of the side dishes that everyone loves, and pickles have many benefits for the body if eaten in moderation. One of the benefits of pickles is that the beneficial bacteria in pickles help improve the process of digesting food, and these bacteria work to prevent various diseases that may affect the digestive system. The process of pickling food has been known in all ancient civilizations and up until the present time it is possible to buy ready-made pickles or make pickles at home at the lowest cost and without much effort, and we will mention to you the steps for making pickled onions, and pickled onions with carrots.

Pickled onions


💠Ingredients:

🔹A kilo of very small onions.

🔹A cup of table salt.

🔹A cup of white vinegar.

🔹A tablespoon of table salt.

🔹Half a tablespoon of sugar.

🔹A teaspoon of pickling spices.

🔹A teaspoon of pepper.

💠Preparation:

🔹Put the onions without peeling them with the salt in a bowl, then put a quantity of boiling water to cover the onions.

🔹Cover the bowl and leave it for two days, stirring from time to time.

🔹Drain the onions from the water and gently remove the peel, leaving the end connected.

🔹Put the onions in a bowl and add boiling water again, leave it for five minutes, then drain it well from the water.

🔹Put the onions in boiling water again for three minutes, then drain it, then put the onions before it cools in a clean, hot glass bowl.

🔹Boil the vinegar with the spices, pepper, sugar and a spoonful of salt and leave it on the fire for a quarter of an hour.

🔹Immerse the onions in the solution you prepared, then close the glass container tightly and place it in a cool, dark place.

🔹Pickled onions need a week to mature, and you can serve them with meat dishes or soups.

Pickled onions and carrots


💠Ingredients:

🔹A kilo of small onions.

🔹Half a kilo of carrots.

🔹Four hot red peppers (optional).

🔹A cup of white vinegar.

🔹A tablespoon of sugar.

🔹A tablespoon of coarse salt.

🔹A teaspoon of turmeric.

🔹A quarter cup of white vinegar (extra).

💠Preparation:

🔹Put the vinegar on the fire until it boils, then add the onions and leave it to boil, then remove the pot from the fire.

🔹Add the carrots to the vinegar and leave it to start boiling, then remove it from the fire and add the hot red pepper and return it to the fire and leave it to boil once.

🔹Add the sugar, salt and ground turmeric to the pickles and stir well.

🔹Add the rest of the vinegar and put the pickles in a sterilized glass container, without adding water to it.

🔹Pickled onions and carrots can be eaten after a day or two of making them.

Conditions for successful pickles


Every woman may suffer from not being able to make pickles, so we present to you the conditions that must be taken into account in order for the fermentation process to be done correctly to obtain delicious pickles, including:

💎The pots and jars in which you put the pickles must be clean and sterilized, as they can be sterilized by boiling water, then drying them with a clean towel, and it is possible to sterilize the glass container by washing them in the electric dishwasher.
